Robinhood UK CGT: upload your Activity Statement, get an HMRC report

If you trade US stocks on Robinhood UK, the broker does not file your UK Capital Gains Tax for you. You still need to report disposals on Self Assessment (SA108) once your gains or proceeds cross the HMRC thresholds. Our CGT Calculator now reads the Robinhood UK Activity Statement CSV directly and produces an HMRC-style report.

What the calculator does with your Robinhood file

  • Stock disposals. Buy and Sell rows are matched under HMRC’s same-day, 30-day bed-and-breakfast, and Section 104 pool rules.
  • Dividends and US withholding tax. CDIV rows are recorded as dividend income and paired with DTAX rows for Foreign Tax Credit Relief.
  • USD to GBP conversion. Every figure is converted with HMRC monthly average rates, not the spot rate Robinhood shows.
  • CUSIP to ISIN. The CUSIP printed in the description is converted to a US ISIN so the same security across brokers is tracked as one pool.

How to export your Robinhood UK Activity Statement

  1. In the Robinhood UK app, open Account and tap Reports and statements.
  2. Under Account activity reports, pick Reports, then Generate new report.
  3. Choose a date range covering the full UK tax year (6 April to 5 April), include every transaction type, and download the CSV when it is ready.

Robinhood UK labels the export “Account activity report” in the menu. It is the same CSV historically known as the Activity Statement, so either name points to the right file.

What is not handled yet

Options trades, free-share promotions, and corporate actions (stock splits, mergers, symbol changes) are skipped with a warning so you can adjust them by hand on the edit page. If options make up most of your trading, Interactive Brokers remains the broker with the most complete coverage today.
